Below is a cheap version of a green screen. This is a pin board with cloth draped over it. Colour just needs to contrast with what students are wearing. Students chose from a limited selection of photos relating to the Language being studied and made up a related pose e.g. propping up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Students were photographed against the cloth coloured screen and the photos downloaded where they could access them. Students used Word to remove the background from their photo and then Publisher to position their photo on the selected photo e.g. scene of Italy, and added text etc.This was used to make a postcard to practice Language writing; in this case Italian. Year 5 and 6 students managed this in very short time with limited instruction, so meant more time to focus on Language skills, with high engagement.
